Adobe has launched the Photoshop app for Android! (1)

Adobe Photoshop is finally available on Android after being limited to PCs for so long. It’s still in beta, but there’s enough to get started with.

How to Get Started:

  1. Install the App
First, go to the Play Store and install the Photoshop app. Once installed, open it.
  2. Log In
You’ll need to log in to start. You can use your Google account for one-click login or sign in with your Adobe account.
  3. Start Editing
After logging in, select a photo from your device’s storage to edit.
  4. Select Your Subject
Tap the “Select Area” option. The app will automatically detect the subject of the photo. Once it’s done, tap the checkmark.
  5. Edit the Background
If you want to change the background, tap the inverse symbol or delete it. I turned the background black and white by lowering the saturation to zero under “Adjust.”
  6. Save the Photo
To save, click the share button and choose “Save to Device as PNG.”

Photoshop for Android Features

Photoshop on Android offers excellent photo editing, including great subject selection and edge detection. The app can use up to 4GB of storage after editing, so make sure you have enough space on your phone.

After editing, the app exports photos in high quality. The two photos I edited were 17MB and 27MB each.

Photoshop also has a “Generative Fill” feature that lets you use AI to create a background for your photo. However, you need a Creative Cloud subscription to access this. I tried it but didn’t take a screenshot.

Final Thoughts
This app is a powerful tool for editing on the go. Let me know what you think in the comments, or ask any questions you have. Allah Hafiz!
